Stay Put Bow Tutorial

As promised, here is my video tutorial on the Stay Put Bow. Please forgive me as its my first tutorial so I was a little out of camera shot at times and towards the end you can here my two year old son commenting on the process! Leave me a comment and let me know what you think and if there are any other techniques you'd like to learn! Thanks!

Devoted to You!

I thought of my mother when I made this card, she just loves purple! This card has plenty of it!

I started with one of my favorite new stamp sets, Herb Expressions. I inked my Lavender stamp up with Rich Razzleberry and stamped it mulitple times. Each time I inked I stamped it twice to get a darker and lighter image. After I was finished I trimmed the bottom off of my Whisper White cardstock so you would not see the writing. I then inked the stamp one last time again in Rich Razzleberry and placed tape over my lavender image to isolate the sentiment and stamped it above my lavender.

This was then matted on Rich Razzleberry and then Lavender Lace. I clipped more Rich Razzleberry with my Scallop Edge punch and placed this over yet more Lavender Lace that I had run through my Big Shot with the Texturz Backgrounds 1 Flourish Plate. (Hint: Texturizing cardstock with your Big Shot is a super fast and easy way to add some pizazz to an otherwise simple card!) The last step was to add some Whisper White Satin Ribbon and adhere it all to a Whisper White card base! Lovely!

Here's what you need:

Stamps
Herb Expressions 113224

Ink
Rich Razzleberry 115658

Paper
Whisper White 100730
Rich Razzleberry 115316

An Inspiration Challenge

Have you checked out the Pals Paper Arts Challenge blog yet? This week was their third challenge and it was an inspiration challenge.

Here was the inspiration:

And here is my card:

I picked up on the blue stripes in the carpet and yellow of the giraffe, along with My cutey-patooty little boy from Very Thankful to continue with the child theme. My card base was layered with Soft Suede, So Saffron and Not Quite Navy and Bordering Blue Stripes. I topped this with my littleboy stamped in Basic Black and colored using Stampin' Write markers and my blender pen. (Hint: I picked up the colored with my blender pen directly from the tip of the Stampin' Write marker!) I added three Not Quite Navy Buttons from the Fresh Favorites 1 pack, threading them with a sliver of So Saffron cardstock. This was matted on Soft Suede and popped on top of the card with Stampin' Dimensionals!

Here's what I used:

Paper
Whisper White 100730
Soft Suede 115318
So Saffron 105118
Not Quite Navy 101722
Bordering Blue 102630

New Colors for an Old Friend

Here's an old friend that I admit I have been neglecting lately....the Trendy Trees set. And what more perfect set for another fab Fall themed card?

I began by stamping my tree trunks in Soft Suede and then my fall foilage in Dusty Durango, So Saffron, and Pumpkin Pie. (Hint: A Stamp-a-ma-jig is a must for this and any other two-step-stampin' sets for proper placement of your image.) My trees were cropped out and matted on Soft Suede cardstock. I stamped my So Saffron cardstock with anoth tree topper from the set in So Saffron and Pumpkin Pie to create a retro pattern for my background. I love making my own patterned paper using my stamps! This was also matted on So Saffron and a Dustry Durango Polka Dotted Grosgrain Ribbon was added (*check back soon for a "Stay Put Bow" video tutorial!) My sentiment is also fromt he Trendy Trees set, stamped in Soft Suede on Whisper White and punched with the Large Oval Punch. It was joined by a Soft Suede Scallop Oval, popped over the ribbon with Stampin' Dimensionals, and I was done!

Mojo Monday

This week's Mojo Monday sketch was tough for me, I'll admit it. I'm not used to doing such unique layouts. Here is what I came up with (And I promise I have more stamps than just this peacock, I just love him so much!!)

I started with a whisper white card base and layered Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry overtop. I ran my Rich Razzleberry through the Bigshot with the Damask Texturz plate to add a little extra "umph." My patterned papers are from the Razzlebery Lemonade Designer Series Paper pack-a must have to go with the new In Colors! A Crushed Curry accent piece goes over these...I used my scallop edge punch to add some interest to the bottom.

My gorgeous friend, the peacock from Very Thankful, is inked in Basic Black on whisper white. I added some Melon Mambo and Crushed Curry accents to his feathers with my blender pen and Classic Stampin' Pads. He's matted on Rich Razzleberry and given the "pop" he deserves with Stampin' Dimensionals.

What do you think? I'd love to hear your comments!

A Halloween Hi

Could it be the muggy summer is getting to me? Dreams of ghosts and goblins are starting to whirl around my head, giving me inspiration to create this "Halloween Hi."

I began by stamping these adorable Jack O'Lanterns from my favorite hostess set "The More the Merrier" (yours free with a $500 workshop! Get your friends together for a workshop, email me for details!)

Using my Blender Pen and Classic Stampin' Pads I colored them in. My row of gourds was then placed on a mat of Dusty Durango and Chocolate Chip cardstocks. My card base was Whisper White, topped with Chocolate Chip and Crushed Curry. I tied a polka dotted Dusty Durango ribbon up top and layered my sentiment (also from The More the Merrier) stamped in Chocolate Chip, punched with the oval punch and layered over a matching scallop oval. This was popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals over my ribbon and voila, a fall greeting complete! I feel cooler already, do you?

Here's what you need:

A little Razzle Dazzle Thank You

I L-O-V-E this card so much! I want to make a thousand of them and give them away! The peacock image is from the Very Thankful set at the back of the catalog. A portion of the proceeds from the sales of this set go to the Ronald McDonald House. That reason enough to buy it but when I saw this peacock it was immediately a Must Have!

I inked the image with Basic Black on Whisper White cardstock. It is double mounted on Bermuda Bay (my fav, obviously!) and Old Olive. The image was colored with Stampin' Write markers to bring out the feathers. My card base is Whisper White stamped with the Razzle Dazzle set in Basic Black. I added an adorable Bermuda Bay polka dotted ribbon, topped with my peacock boosted by a few Stampin' Dimensionals and I was finito! Simple but oh-so-gorgeous!

Here are the supplies you need to make this beauty on your own:

Stamps
Razzle Dazzle 116714
Very Thankful 115338

Ink
Basic Black 101179

Paper
Whisper White 100730

Bonus!! If you order these two sets from me before August 20th I will include all the precut paper and ribbon elements you need to make this card yourself, you just need your stamps, adhesive, and a Basic Black inkpad! This is on top of the free gift you receive if your order is $50 or more (free gift for every $50 ordered!)
