Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge

I'd like to give another big thanks to Lee Conrey for volunteering to be my guest stamper yesterday, man did I need some help! Luckily I got my boys to the doctor and some medicines which had the delightful side effect of knocking them out for an extra long naptime, and you know what that means! Extra long STAMPIN' time!!! I was finally able to get my craft area organized (it was a wreck) so that I could concentrate and make some goodies.

Here is my card for this week's Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge. I really liked this Clean and Simple Sketch.

My card is an odd shape today, to accomodate the three scalloped circles. I started with a 7.5 by 6" piece of Whisper White Cardstock and folded in half on the long side to make my final dimensions 3.75 by 6. I covered this with Pumpkin Pie Cardstock in the same dimension and then Tall Tales Designer Series Paper. A Pumpkin Pie grosgrain ribbon adds some minimalistic flair.

My three little owls from Animal Stories were stamped in Crushed Curry, Old Olive, and Pumpkin Pie and mounted on matching scallop circles. I lined them up and my card was done.

For a little extra interest I stamped the Very Thankful sentiment from the turtle stamp in the Very Thankful set and punched it out with my Large Oval Punch. A crushed Curry owl pops his head in for a little hello! I mounted it on an Old Olive Scallop Oval and added it inside the card.

Hop on over to PPA and try your hand at the sketch challenge too! Challenges are a great way to help expand your creativity!

Once again, don't forget about my blog candy (winner will be chosen Sunday!), my Open House tomorrow, and the current Card Kit of the Month

Update: Unfortunately due to my children's illness I have to cancel tomorrow's Open House. You are more than welcome to swing by and pick up an Open House package containing your catalogs, free project, and small gift. Just let me know when you'd like to pick up and I'll have it ready! The Open House will be rescheduled for a later date.
